Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals an easy and straightforward methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious eateries located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communications degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable opportunity for me. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture which has had an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Burrell is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate in which she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. As a guest speaker and teacher Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her culinary passion and career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has always said I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share what I love most in life with others.
